Remote Work is NOT JUST Work from Home

FOR SOME REASON, whenever the term "remote work" is thrown out in a conversation, most people automatically imagine someone in a dress shirt and pajama bottoms working from his living room or a stay-at-home mom logging in hours of work between chores.  In fact, if you Google the term "remote worker," you will end up with numerous links about working from home.

Although these scenarios are part of what define remote work, they shouldn’t be used as the absolute definition since the concept is more than that. This can even potentially drive away companies looking for more cost-effective alternatives to hiring locally since not all are too keen on hiring someone who works from home.
